First of all, what is a mindset?

In simple terms, a “mindset” is a series of beliefs and thoughts that you have. Many of these were obtained when we were very young and they unconsciously run/ruin your life. They are beliefs that you hold on to and believe to be true. These are beliefs that you have about yourselves, other people and the world as a whole.

Recent research has shown that people have a predisposition toward one of two main categories. In general, this is similar to having a positive or negative focus. A more positive mindset is categorized as a “growth” mindset. The opposite, a more limiting mindset is known as a “fixed “ mindset.

Successful people tend to have a growth-based mindset

Your mindset has a huge effect quality of your life. There are certain positive traits associated with a success-based mindset that can make a huge difference as to whether someone is or will be successful in life. This article will discuss a couple of the key components, specifically, a “fixed” mindset versus a “growth” mindset. While there is a gradient scale, people can focus more on one of these areas. , more than the other.

How does your mindset control you?

Your mindset and beliefs act as a screen through which you see the world. This can either enhance or detract from the potential results you may be capable of. This includes your relationship with yourself, your relationship with others and your relationship with the world itself. Left unchallenged, your random mindset will continue to control virtually everything you do.

So, do you have the life of your dreams? If not, a great place to start is with your mindset.

Most people take their mindset for granted – as if it is permanent

Most people take their mindset for granted. not a lot of people thought the nature of their mindset. Few people think about how they got their mindset, what is it comprised of and more importantly does it serve them or support them to have an amazing life.

For the most part, the foundation of our mindset came from our early years of life. Most components were passed on to us by the people around us. The majority came from our primary caregivers or those around us in our early years. As I’ve mentioned a few times before the problem is that the beliefs that our caregivers had, were for the most part passed on to them from other generations.

It’s not very often people stopped to question the history and validity of their belief systems.

So basically, you are running around thinking you’re a freethinker, when in fact is you’re using recycled beliefs, which in many cases came from generations ago. This is especially true about beliefs about relationships, things like governments, societies, self-worth, self-responsibility and so many of a person’s foundational beliefs about being a good “human.  A lot of the time it affects whether you end up with a “growth” based mindset or a more self-limiting “fixed” mindset.

Mindsets

Let’s take a look at the two of you understand you can start reflecting on which one you have.

A Growth Mindset

A growth mindset focuses on ways to grow and for the most part to be all you can be. A person with a growth mindset loves challenges and new experiences and sees them as a way to learn and grow. A person with a growth mindset will learn from their mistakes and their setbacks and use them as a stepping stone to move forward and create something new. As a result, there is lots of openness to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. Mistakes to someone with a Growth mindset can simply mean that the goal is one step closed.  “Ah, a problem, Great, what am I going to learn that is going to make me stronger and take me forward?”

A Fixed Mindset

Action Steps

Reflect On What You Have Been Doing And How You Have Stopped Yourself.

What you have been doing historically will give you a pretty good idea of what type of mindset you have.

Start reflecting on these questions and learn more about both mindsets and pretty soon you’ll get very clear about which one you have.

Value (Mental) Exercise

In this case exercise, it is not about exercising your body – though this will also help you in this process!

It is about exercising your mind. When we improve our physical body, we need exercise, stretching our limbs etc. so that they can tone. With our minds, in many ways, it’s the same. We also need to grow our capabilities, to tone our minds.

If you want to take on a growth mindset you will need to tackle new, challenging possibilities. When you exercise your mind, you give your mind the opportunity to create new neural links that will expand your mind’s capabilities. Start to recognize that the mind and especially your subconscious mind have way much more abilities than most individuals understand.

Start to fully comprehend that your mind can overcome most challenges to success and growth. Your mind is way more powerful than you ever imagined. The great advantage here is that the extra effort you put into doing this will stretch your mind, making it easier to accomplish more going forward. Where you may initially have had concerns, this too will pass.

Put In A Full Effort

Once your subconscious mind understands that you are trying something new it will come on board! It will just need to create new neural connections which can take a bit of time. What it needs most is repetition – keep repeating what you are doing.

It is important that you repeat what you learn and put in an effort to integrate your new learnings so that it rewires your brain. Once you’ve repeated the process enough your subconscious mind will understand this is what you want to create. The subconscious mind actually helps us but it doesn’t really know what we want until we give it repetitive instructions.

It’s important that you pay attention to your thoughts and especially remain vigilant about your old thinking. Know that the more you repeat new thinking, the easier it will be. Basically, you will be stepping above your old limitations.

For a time your ego, which can resist change may try to stop you. It’s important you stay focused on your goal and get your subconscious mind on board. If you work harder, take on even more understanding, and then function even harder, you will begin to observe a very positive change. You will certainly begin to challenge your very own previously fixed thinking.

You Are Capable of Way Greater Results!

The more difficult your tasks are, the more results and rewards you will certainly see. Work hard, you can use greater initiative, and as a result, you will accomplish much greater things and achieve way greater esults.

Set Higher Standards

Have you ever before listened to someone’s perspective or perception of the world that was astonishing to listen to? Do you sometimes see how other people are able to set their goals a little bit higher, attempt bigger results and as a result work much harder?

Even if you need to work harder, it does not suggest that you can not be much more successful. This can also be a 180-degree shift from your old viewpoint, even from a short while before. Think of various areas from your past such as academics and understand that if you think outside the box you will achieve very different results. Remember to focus on your end goal & your new results could be amazing!

Remember that anyone that has actually made new inroads or achieved a greater objective has likely done so by functioning harder, trying brand-new things, as well as extending themselves way outside of their comfort area. Please know that you can as well! It

All begins here – AND NOW!
