Eventually, a thought comes to you. It starts to bubble in your conscious thoughts that the real problem lies considerably deeper inside of you – your thoughts.
Gandhi has always said, “Be The Change You Want To See In This World.”
Gandhi was referring that the solutions to our problems are within us. And if we want a different world, the solution also has to come from within us. Virtually everything occurs as a result of our own interpretations of what is going on outside of us. After all, nothing has meaning except what we give to it!
If we are miserable and things are not going our way, it is because of our meaning to what is going on around us. Again, Gandhi was talking about how we have the power to do so if we want to change our reality. Doing this the simpler than we imagined though it will take practice and dedication. It requires that we change our perception.

Most of us were taught as children the simple process of saying “thank you.” Initially, we likely repeated it verbatim out of fear of being punished. “Come on, and Billy, don’t you have any manners, say thank you!” Or we might have used the expression to try to show off how well mannered we were!
We would repeat this phrase as simply it is what we’ve been taught. It’s likely that few of us took the time to sit down and think about its true meaning and the power of something as simple as saying “thank you!”
If I mention the word gratitude to you, what comes to mind? What do you relate to the word gratitude? Do you look at it as a benefit or a chore? Is it something that’s going to make your life better or just something that’s going to take up more of your day?
How do you feel when you say thank you to someone who has helped you? Or how do you feel when the person you’re out with buys dinner? While these acts may be counted as gratitude, in reality, they don’t mean much when it comes to transforming your life and helping you get out of bed.
Try thinking of this: think of your last birthday or last Christmas, and you got gifts from people close to you. Are we grateful at that moment? Be honest, how long did that feeling last? One day, part of the day, a couple of hours, 10 minutes, or maybe it was over instantaneously.
Gratitude Is Not A Surface Level Action
You see, practicing gratitude at a surface level isn’t going to affect your life. This is especially true if you spend most of your day focused on everything you don’t like or don’t want.
Being happy only for brief periods will not help you live a rich and fulfilling life. To transform your life, you need to master the entire concept of gratitude.
